What is Clergy Appreciation Month?
Each October, churches across the country celebrate Clergy Appreciation Month—a special season dedicated to honoring our pastors, ministers, and spiritual leaders. We here at TLC have always celebrated Pastor Appreciation Day: a single day set aside to celebrate our leaders. This year, we are taking the whole month!
These men and women give tirelessly of their time, energy, and hearts as they preach, teach, counsel, pray, and guide us in our walk with Christ. Their role often extends beyond Sunday services; they step into our lives during times of joy, grief, and uncertainty, offering wisdom and compassion rooted in God’s Word.
The Bible calls us to show gratitude to our leaders: “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).
This month gives us a chance to live out that verse. It isn’t just about recognition, it’s about strengthening the bond between leaders and congregation, reminding us that ministry is a shared journey. As we honor our pastors, may we also commit to walking faithfully alongside them in prayer and support.
